It is important to memorise the parts of the guitar so when you are given a task or instructions, you will be able to follow them. Here are the answers to the activity on page 3 of your StartUp Classical Guitar book.

The Head - Also called the head stock, the head of the guitar is one of the uniques parts. The head holds the tuning pegs. Luthiers or guitar makers use this part to carve out a signature of their guitar design too.

Tuning Pegs - are used to loosen or tighten the guitar strings

Nut - A piece of bone, plastic, or melamine used to keep the strings in place.

Fret Line - A metal bar used to mark the note and support young finger to play a note clearly.

Fret Board - also called the neck, it contains all the frets and notes that will be used in playing music on the guitar.

Sound Hole - The echo chamber of the guitar. The sound hole amplifies and resonates the vibration of the strings you play.

Rosette - The artistic design that encircles the sound hole. It is made with many little pieces of coloured wood designed by the Luthier. Some designs can be very ornate while others are minimal.

Bridge - The bridge supports the strings on the guitar. They are fixed by doing simple knots or with special string holders.

The Body - The largest part of the guitar. It is responsible for sound production and the resonance of the the vibrations coming from the strings.
